Contest Guidelines

Crosswinds seeks English language poetry in all styles. Using Submittable, submit poems as Word documents.
Please submit a  biography of 100 words or fewer with your cover letter.
We prefer 12-point Times New Roman font, and when submitting, please be aware of our limits of 60 single-spaced lines, per poem and 66 characters per line.
Any identifying information on the poems themselves will not be considered.
Reading fees are $20 for each submission of up to three poems.
NOTE: We will not consider poetry that has been in whole or in part, generated by AI as determined by our software.
Two submissions of up to three poems are allowed but require two separate reading fees.
Poets warrant that all work submitted by them to Crosswinds are original works that have not been accepted or published elsewhere.
Reports in 2-4 months.
Simultaneous submissions are fine, but please notify us promptly if your work is accepted elsewhere. There are no refunds of reading fees should your work be accepted elsewhere.
Winning poets agree to allow Crosswinds archival rights to post their winning poems on various platforms. All other rights revert to the poet upon publication.
We strongly discourage postal submissions but will consider them in unusual situations.
